Types of Permit in Mauritius
There are different types of permits in Mauritius which enable non-citizens to live, work and/invest in Mauritius.
The Occupation Permit (OP)
The Occupation Permit (OP) is a combination of work and residence permit which allows foreign nationals
to work and reside in Mauritius under the following 3 specific categories:
Residence Permit (RP)
The Residence Permit (RP) is a type of permit that enables foreign nationals to settle and live a unique experience in Mauritius, between white sand beaches, turquoise lagoon and an incomparable art of living.
Permanent Residence Permit (PRP)
A holder of of an Occupation Permit (OP) or Residence Permit (RP) as a retired non-citizen is eligible to apply for a 20-year Permanent Residence Permit to the Prime Minister Office (PMO) provided the following specific conditions are met:
Premium Visa
To qualify for the Premium Visa, interested visitors should produce proof of their long stay plans and sufficient travel and health insurance for the initial period of stay while meeting some criteria
