Occupation Permit as Professional

If you’re a non-citizen who wants to work in Mauritius, you can apply for an Occupation Permit (OP) as Professional.

Premium Visa

Conditions

1.

Be employed in Mauritius by a multinational or a local company,

2.

Earn a monthly basic salary of at least MUR 30,000

3.

Possess the necessary skills and qualifications as outlined in the job description

Validity of permit: The permit is valid for a maximum of 10 years, depending on the duration of the contract of employment

NOTE:

1. An OP as Professional can invest in any business on condition:

  • They are not employed in that business
  • They do not manage the business
  • They do not derive any salary from that business.

 

2. The Dependents of an Occupation Permit as Professional are eligible to apply for a Residence Permit.

Dependents are defined as spouse (including Common Law Partner of the opposite sex), parents, and dependent children including stepchildren or lawfully adopted children who are unmarried and not engage in any gainful activity. Residence permit, allowing them to live in Mauritius for the same duration as the main holder.

Permanent Residence Permit (PRP) – 

Holder of an Occupation Permit as Professional for at least 3 years may apply for a 20-year PRP provided the specific conditions are met. Contact us

Occupation Permit as Self-Employed

If you are a non-citizen but wish to relocate to a tropical island and continue offering professional services to your clients, you may be eligible to apply for an Occupation Permit as a Self-Employed.

Conditions

1.

Make an initial investment of USD 35,000

2.

Criteria for renewal: The commercial activity must generate an income of at least MUR 800,000 per year as from the third year of registration.

Validity of permit: The permit is valid for 10 years and renewable subject to satisfying the criteria
